The Illness of Prisoner Lauren

OK, so the weekend started out slow but ended in a little drama! I started on an antibiotic last Wednesday and by Friday, about 2 hours after I took a dose, I would be dizzy and light headed for about 3 hours and then it would go away. Well, on Sunday, Kev was about to go to work and all of a sudden, I felt like someone was stabbing my in the center of my chest. We debated for a few minutes and then decided to go the hospital. (This was after taking 2 aspirin, "just in case") Well, keep in mind that Kevin was dressed and ready for work (read: in his Police uniform). When we got there everyone was whispering and pointing. It took me a few minutes to realize that everyone in the ER thought that I was a prisoner that Kevin had brought in. It was comical to say the least! Well, they ran an EKG and checked my oxygen level and took a chest X-Ray and everything came back fine. They doctor said that he thinks I was having an allergic reaction to the antibiotic. It was still scary! Yesterday, I slept most of the day because I felt like I had run a marathon the day before, I was just exhausted. I am 100 times better today and am very glad that everything is OK!

Me, too! At least you have a police escort when you really need it, too :)

LOL! Bless your heart! I'm glad you're okay. In college I had a similar experience with hydrocodine (sans the stabbing chest pain) and I thought how odd that a tablespoon of "medicine" would make me feel like I was on the tail end of a drinking spree. ;-)

Glad to know you're feeling better and glad to know that hubby escorted you to the hospital. He should have put handcuffs on you just for the fun of it. hehehe maybe next time, just to get the folks really talking....

I can't say that I have ever had an experience like that. Just think of it like this they probably got in and out quicker just because of the confusion. Which is a good think because ERs take forever.

Hey girlie, I just read your blog comment on mine, didn't realize you were a Red Sox fan! John's a die hard. We fight all the time cause I'm a Cards fan since I'm from St. Louis. Since we've been dating though, the Cards have won the series, the Sox have won the series and Auburn has won the Iron Bowl all three years :)
