Happy Fall Y'all

Just a quick post tonight...I need to go to sleep. I let Rory explore the leaves underneath one of the trees in our front yard this afternoon. Clearly, she is not impressed. "Hey, I wonder if these taste good" Nellie and Ruby said that they never get any blog time anymore. They want you to know that they discovered the fall leaves too.

Official 10 Month Post

Ok, so I am a little late getting it posted. But here it is non-the less. I realize that the next one is blurry. Sorry, but I couldn't resist a pic of her smiling. I seemed to be getting a lot of THIS: Ok, so at 10 months Rory:

  • crawls as fast as lightning
  • despite a 2 week period of HORRIBLE sleeping (thanks ear infection), puts herself to sleep and sleeps around 10 hours.
  • Will walk along the furniture and let go and stand all by herself for a few seconds
  • Does this funny little dance, bounce thing where she bounces and shakes her hand at you. Hard to describe, equally hard to resist.
  • Waves at you when you say 'Hi' or 'Bye'
  • Will eat Baby Goldfish as long as you keep handing them to her.
  • Does the hand motions to 'Itsy Bitsy Spider'
  • Talks A LOT! So far she says:
  1. Ma Ma
  2. Da Da (although lately it has been Da-deeeee too)
  3. Neh-Dee (Nellie)
  4. Wow
  5. uh uh oh
  6. Up (this kind of turns out sounding like Up-ah like a little German baby)
  7. Umm Yumm
  8. Hey
  9. Buh Byeee
  10. Gog (Dog)
  11. Go
  12. Uh Uhh (as in Uh Uhh, No No)
  13. Nanna (Savannah - the babysitter)
  14. NoNo (I am sure I will grow to regret this one)
  15. O-E-O-E-O (E-I-E-I-O, as in Old McDonald)
There are more things that she says, but I can't remember right now. This month her personality has really started to come out. She may look like her Daddy...but she is busy and must be on the go like her Mommy.

LOTS of pictures.

We went on a little mini vacation getaway to the beach. We stayed at the Marriott Grand in Point Clear. It is a 5 star resort and boy was it great! Since we went at the end of September, there was really no one there. One of the hotel workers told us that there were 40 people checked in. We had a really good time and it was nice to be able to relax and let Rory play and not have to worry about a crowd of people. The resort was beautiful, we will definately be going again! Get ready, there are a TON of pics. I didn't put them in any order.

This is actually our last morning there. We were at breakfast and Rory was full and tired. She is so cute...some times I can hardly stand it! Ready for the pool. This was our 1st night there. Rory was pretty worn out about 5 minutes after this picture was taken, Rory was out like a light! NOT impressed with the ocean. There is not much cuter than a sleeping baby. Rory and Daddy in the pool. It took some getting used to, but once she got the hang of the float, she seemed to really enjoy it. It helped that we had teh pool all to ourselves. I know this pic is sort of dark, but it is one of my favorites. Rory and her Daddy...they are quite a pair! She probably played on the side of the pool for a good 30 minutes. Look at her hair...the humidity made it curl right up! She was facsinated by the sand. She said "wow"

The pool is HUGE. There is a kid's area, adults only pool, and huge pool with waterfall. The grounds are breath taking. We walked around a good bit and explored. They have a long fishing pier too. We took Rory out on it and took a few pics. She was really too busy to be bothered, but seemed to enjoy the breeze off the water. We liked watching the ducks. The front desk will give you a bag of duck food to feed them. There were probably 30-40 brown ducks and mallards and then these 2 white ones. These guys have it figured out...as soon as they saw the white bag that holds the food, they came running (and quacking). Rory thought that they were funny. All greased up with sun screen. I LOVE this bathing suit. She actually wore more than just this one suit, but I somehow only got a pic of her in this one. Can't beat the cute little smocked crab. Happy girl!

"Mommy, you are so funny!"

Calling all Former Band Geeks!

Ok, I am so smart...I totally meant to write this post a week or two ago and forgot and now it is the last day. Well, better late than never I guess. All you AHS Bandees will remember the dreaded fruit sale. Well, as you also know, Sarah Grace and Victoria are in the band this year. They have to sell 25 boxes of fruit PER PERSON! They have asked that I help them sell their quota. So, all you Band Nerds, step up to the plate and help them out PLEASE! You can either order online, or I can give you their info and you can do it that way. The website is here: AHS FRUIT SALE. I know that I totally waited until the last minute, but help them out please! 50 boxes is a lot! If you do it online, on the last page, it will ask you to pick a student. You can pick either one since in the end, it won't matter. Thanks guys!

Still Here!

I am working on a post from our vacation. Actually a series of posts, but it will have to wait. Miss Bee has an ear infection and we have been battling the fever and grumpies all weekend.
